York Park Group is formalising its transaction communications offering.
Over recent years, clients have increasingly turned to York Park Group as they navigate mergers and acquisitions, defend against competitor encroachment, or manage complex change of control environments.
Drawing on deep experience across politics, media, corporates and large not for profit organisations, York Park Group has supported clients to manage the full spectrum of transaction communications.
This includes mitigating leaks and market speculation that erodes trust, engaging current and future employees, reassuring customers and stakeholders, navigating competitive bids, managing regulators, protecting reputation, and responding to political attention.
We work alongside legal teams, barristers, investment bankers, administrators and corporate advisers as part of a broader deal team. Our role is to help clients anticipate and manage stakeholder responses, develop clear and compelling narratives, and execute communications strategies that protect both transaction outcomes and long term reputation.
A Sample of our Transaction Communications Experience
York Park Group’s work spans proactive and reactive engagement; from early pre positioning to crisis response during live transactions. In one instance, we supported a client over a three year period, strengthening its reputation, repairing government relationships, and building stakeholder trust. This groundwork ultimately enabled the client to secure a new regulatory partnership that would previously not have been achievable.
We were also engaged by a company to run a defensive campaign, utilising political networks and knowledge, regulatory levers and local community stakeholder management to slow the possible introduction of a competitor and associated commercial risk.
Most recently, we worked on an acquisition of a well-known Australian company that had historic regulatory issues, voluntary administration and staff fatigue after having been sold and acquired multiple times in a relatively short period. Our advice focused on mitigating public commentary, reassuring staff and supporting the integration of a new owner.
York Park Group’s Advice
We are now formalising our experience into a clear Transaction Communications offering.
Our focus is on helping clients protect and enhance value through preparation, trusted counsel and disciplined execution. We seek to ensure stakeholders understand, and if needed support, the transaction.
Experience matters more than ever in the current M&A environment. Regulators are increasingly assessing deals not only on legal or technical grounds, but also monitoring public perception and visible stakeholder support. Media scrutiny, often driven by activist voices, political actors or competitors, can frequently be used to delay or derail transactions.
At the same time, political intervention is increasingly normalised and rewarded, public trust in major organisations continues to decline, and the media landscape has fragmented. Traditional media remains critical, but digital platforms, independent analysts, online start ups and other commentators place additional pressure on organisations seeking to maintain a coherent narrative throughout a deal.
These dynamics add complexity to transactions at precisely the moment when clarity, credibility and confidence are most required.
As communications and stakeholder strategy consultants, we understand our role in supporting broader transactions teams. Our aim is to provide considered advice informed by experience, with a clear focus on reputation, risk and long term value.
